Qetiq is a phenomenal rock group from the town of Ürümchi, capital of the autonomous Xinjiang (Chinese Turkestan) region in northwest China. Founded in 2006 by the singer, guitarist and composer Perhat Khaliq, Qetiq has created its own unique style of fusion by drawing its inspiration from traditional Uyghur and Kazakh repertoires and mixing this with the sophisticated techniques of progressive rock. Perhat Khaliq is now a major star in China after reaching the 2014 finals of The Voice of China competition.
