MASTER MUSICIANS OF THE EAST
Afghanistan – Kurdistan – Azerbaijan – Iran –Turkey
The festival’s fantastic opening night brings together several great masters of Eastern music from different countries, which are united by a common history that has been nourished by numerous reciprocal influences. These musicians met at the Labyrinth Musical Workshop in Crete, and from there the desire to build a programme together rapidly developed. Each has the opportunity to express himself and to help us appreciate the specificity of his musical expression. Original encounters between the musicians garnish the evening, which serve to illuminate these extraordinary artists’ bonds as well as the kinship of their musical languages.
