TO THE RYTHM OF DANCE

Soloists from Bulgaria

Rhythmical and syncopated, Bulgarian musical is essentially a rural expression of the Balkan tradition, which calls on us to dance. The singer Tzvetanka Varimezova and her husband Ivan Varimezov, who is a specialist of the bagpipe, are internationally recognised as renowned performers, but also as excellent teachers and guardians of their tradition. Their repertoire draws on the most ancient roots of folk tradition, which are given new life through their creative approach and with the collaboration of two master instrumentalists: Peyo Peev on the fiddle called gadulka and Nedyalko Nedyalkov on the kaval flute.
