BULGARIAN POLYPHONIC SONGS

Born in Bulgaria where she trained in traditional singing from a young age, Tzvetanaka now teaches at UCLA in California. A singer with a warm, honey-toned voice, she is also a great teacher gifted with an exceptional charisma. This workshop is an opportunity to tackle several songs from the Bulgarian traditional repertoire. It will focus on the variety of regional styles and polyphonic configurations, as well as working on embellishments and the traditional use of the voice. The workshop is aimed at people who have some knowledge of vocals, but not necessarily of Balkan singing.
