VOCALS AND UD, FROM THE TIGRIS TO THE EUPHRATES

Waed Bouhassoun et Moslem Rahal (Syrie) - 1st part
Omar Bashir (Irak) - 2nd part

Along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, the musical paths of Waed Bouhassoun and Omar Bashir interweave. Each has developed a personal artistic approach: the voice and composition for Waed; the freedom and mastery of an instrument for Omar. The poetic refinement of Moslem Rahal’s nay shares in this sensibility. Solid, traditional bases open out onto plains of liberty and creativity through improvisation and other surprises born from this wonderful encounter, and from within the world of maqâm.
