Right from the start Patrick Vaillant, Daniel Malavergne and Manu Théron had an infatuation for the remarkable cançons of Victor Gélu, a major poet of Marseille's popular culture. For this evening's performance, the trio will adopt a rebellious attitude that falls somewhere between a melodrama and a farce. Later, their repertoire deepens with compositions or imprints of diverse popular music that includes Sicilian, Neapolitan, Sevillian and even French traditions! To give this diversity its due power, each member of the trio distills his ingredients and the whole is made from the mix - a shared appreciation for popular melodies.
