Bijayashree has lived in Geneva since 2006, but she has never ceased her intense practice of Hindustani classical singing, which she has studied since childhood as part of the Gwalior gharana (school). Initially taught by her mother, who is also a singer, she then studied under Pandit Pani Chittaranjan. Gifted with a soft and melodious voice, she is known for her precise and clear interpretations of difficult ragas, which she performs in concert with Paul Grant, the professor of Indian music at ADEM, as well as Sébastian Lacroix and Santosh Kurbet: a first outing for this line up!

The concert will be followed by a workshop conduct by Bijayashree Samal, on January 18 -19. More info
