Traditional Kurd music

The Esman trio formed around their desire to share Kurdish music and dengbej in particular - songs orally transmitted across the centuries by bards. With traditional instruments supporting Mehmet Salih Inan’s powerful voice, they tell the histories and tribulations of the Kurdish people. The popular melodies have flexible, swinging rhythms and are embedded in a lively dance culture, while the voice works a cappella - as if suspended beyond time.
