Song, wind, strings and percussion: this opening evening presents an array of voices and instruments with delicate timbres and refined technique presented by exceptional performers.

A remarkable musician on any instrument of the oboe family (zurna, ney and duduk), Ertan Tekin was one of the first to have introduced these instruments into a concert ensemble, in which the lute player Engin Arslan and the percussionist Abbas Arslan also play. Through the diversity of musical expressions of Turkey, the theme of the concert will be a journey: one of roaming and exile which can be heard in the sound of the duduk; one of seeking some understanding of human and musical history; one of the poetic loves of the bards.
