The singer Ivonne Gonzalez presents a programme on female Cuban composers, which the immense musical patrimony of Cuba has produced. Each of these women has signalled a turning point - both in the culture of their countries and across Latin America. Ivonne and her musicians reinterpret the repertoire of these different eras while mixing in a bit of Afro, Latin jazz, salsa and bossa. This is an homage to these pioneering women, their battles and their intuitive, popular and exquisite art.
