Made up of three singers and a percussionist, Orisha Oko dedicates itself to the performance of Afro-Cuban music, with a few forays into other repertoires with African roots. Its approach consists of revisiting these songs through original arrangements, composed by Marta Duarte. In the pantheon of Cuban Santeria of Yoruba origin, Orisha Oko is a god that personifies the earth and presides over agricultural work, in particular ploughing. The god’s tutelary colours are red and white, and he is also considered as the guardian of secrets and the arbitrator of disputes.
