Les Larmes des hommes is a hybrid creation – a mix that brings Swiss and Cuban musicians and actors together on stage. The play revives six short stories that are tied together in the Le file des missanges by Mia Couto, an anthology that tells of common people and their struggle to exist. It includes vibrant portraits of women grappling with their desire, their disappointing loves and their secret hurts. People who reinvent the real, children who return to their dreams: these are some of the beads (missangas) that shape Mia Couto’s work in which she creates a singular world in a unique yet universal language.
