Popular persian music, vocal and percussion
With Hossein Rad
Popular Iranian melodies and songs
The main objective of theses courses is to make you discover the pleasure of singing, creating and developing your own style, accompanying yourself with a percussion. Here the Persian music offers a solid base to learn rythmes (from simple to sophisticated) ,to explore the technical and artistic capacity of your voice and to get your ear used to different gammes and tonalities.
Potentially these courses will be followed in one of these three directions or two or three of them, according to each student’s wish :
- Developing vocal capacities and learning advanced vocale technics of Persian music,
- Learning advanced technics of Iranian percussion (Tombak & Dayereh)
- Learning a large repertoire of Persian popular old songs from Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
According to their level, student are encouraged to form small groups or to join existing groups of other students to develop the practice of playing together, preparing a performance under the supervision of the teacher.
Musician, performer and teacher, Hossein Rad was born Teheran. He has learnt the radif (repertoire of Persian learned tradition) and the setar. Parallel to this, he studied Persian song with D. Mehrparvaran and percussion with Farid Kheradman and Djamchid Chemirani.
