Irish Music – group lessons
With Leonard Gremaud
Irish Music Classes
For all those who’d like to learn the traditional songs of Ireland in a group, Léonard Gremaud runs classes every Tuesday: jigs, reels and other airs are played, with focus on the “swing”, rhythms and ornamentations.
There is also the possibility of learning the songs and dances from Central France. The tempi of each individual dance are highlighted, as well as the embellishments. Instruments like the wheel, accordion and the trumpet will also be present during these workshops.
Léonard Gremaud who also gives private violin lessons.
After substantial training in classical violin with Laurent Rochat in Geneva, Leonard Gremaud was moved by the vivacity and collective understanding that poured forth in traditional European music. He decided to learn this music from reputed musicians while travelling, in workshops and by listening to recordings. He also took classes with Vanessa Lorkens, Elandir’s violinist.
