Despite being one of the most captivating of the Mediterranean musical traditions, Cretan music remains relatively unknown. ADEM and Antigel thus decided to celebrate this tradition by exploring its modernity. Crete’s emblematic instruments, the lyra and laoutu, take centre stage in the hands of its great masters. From the prodigious Ross Daly and the Efendaki sisters’ fiery dances to the audacious partnership between Giorgos Xylouris and New York rocker Jim White, this programme presents a captivating mood.
