El Minyawi, a virtuoso on the Egyptian darbuka, is known worldwide for his performances and vast knowledge of the tradition. Students can perfect their playing while soaking up this musician's talent. Caroline Chevrat trained in movement and percussion with El Minyawi and Claudia Heinle. She also records traditional Egyptian music under the label Tanz Raum. Caroline will introduce beginners to the repertoire and technical aspects of this instrument.
