MUSIC OF THE MIDDLE EAST
With Iyad Haymour
Born into a family of swirling dervishes in Syria, Iyad Haymour learnt the repertoire with master lute player and luthier Jawadat Halabi. He also plays the nay flute and cithara. Iyad will introduce students to the subtle music of the Middle East. He will teach modal structures and rhythms, followed by a traditional piece and improvisation. Students need 3 year practice of their instrument to participate.
