CUBAN RUMBA

Luanda Pau Baquareo is the daughter of a great rumba dancer and has performed in numerous shows in Cuba and abroad. Based in Nice, she directs an Afro-Cuban dance school while pursuing her artistic career. Cuban rumba was born in the working-class quarters of Havana and Matanzas and echoes the seduction games beween man and woman. In her classes she explores the dances’ meanings and variants by highlighting the links between movement, song and rhythms.
