From his childhood in Jerez, Joaquin Grilo began an exceptional trajectory as a dancer, which took him to stages across the world from the age of fifteen. He starred as the soloist dancer in Paco de Lucia’s company from 1994 to 1999, was the choreographer of Spain’s national ballet, and has also collaborated with Vicente Amigo, Duquende, José Merce, Miguel Poveda…With his prodigious technique and exceptional musical virtuosity, he has combined the development of a very personal style and respect for the flamenco tradition in a remarkable manner.

He has been directing his own company since 1999. His shows are seen as major events in the flamenco world, both in Spain and globally, and as many prestigious distinctions have been given to him by the critiques as by the public. A renowned teacher, he uses his art and vast experience to transmit knowledge and guide his students in their search for authentic expression.
