Choreographer, teacher and creator of the Silvestre dance technique, Rosangela Silvestre is from Salvador de Bahia in Brazil. After training in choreography, she studied classical and contemporary techniques from across the globe. She is recognised as an important figure in contemporary dance, notably for the creation of the Silvestre Technique, which brings together symbolic movements and sacred gestures in contemporary expression. During this course, she guides students through the movements, rhythms and songs attributed to the orishas, exploring how symbolism inspires dance.
