Kathak, the classical dance of North India, constitutes a choreographic language of rhythmic composition, improvisation and narrative dance, characterised by grace, emotions, speed, precision and a dialogue between dancers and percussionists. Pt. Ravi Shankar Mishra comes from a dynasty of Benares musicians and is an emblematic figure of kathak. A much sought-after teacher, he has performed worldwide and regularly travels to Europe to teach workshops. Twins Saurav and Gaurav Mishra have developed an original style under the guidance of their uncles Mata Prasad and Ravi Shankar Mishra.
