Kevyan immersed himself in Eastern and Mediterranean music at his father’s side. A prolific and curious musician, he masters several percussion instruments (zarb, Iranian daf, udu, bendir, riqq). Influenced by Mediterranean music and the great jazz performers, he has many fruitful collaborations with respected musicians from a range of traditions under his belt. This course is for percussionists of any instrument. It focuses on the development of rhythmic variations and improvisation, based on the Indian tradition. Zarb and daf players will also benefit from advice on their instruments’ techniques.
