A shared musical vision

The numerous musicians partaking in this festival all have a powerful experience in common: they are all linked to the Labyrinth Musical Workshop, a unique music lab founded over thirty years ago in a small Cretan village by Ross Daly. Driven by a deciding intuition, this musician of Irish origin made his dream come true: to bring together a slew of master musicians from different countries each year, so that they could pass on their art to students who had come from the world over to learn from them.

The festival, put together in collaboration with Ross, covers a vast geographical expanse, from Spain to India, passing by Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran and Afghanistan. This rich programme explores very different musical traditions, yet there is cohesion – they are unified by a mysterious and shared spiritual relationship. The participating artists are renowned performers who are engaged in the renewal of their respective musical traditions. This festival is ambitious, innovative, and pays tribute to the cultural diversity that has always been intrinsic to ADEM.
