Soungalo Coulibaly is one of those inspired artists for whom tradition is in perpetual motion.  He is not afraid to innovate by mixing instruments from different repertoires from his birth country of Mali.  The other members of his group add their own personalities to this foundation: the moving voice of Mariam Doumbia-Diakité, the extraordinary virtuosity of the balafon player Siaka Diabaté, the sense of harmony and ease with which Vincent Zanetti moves from one instrument to another, the reassuring tranquillity of the accompanying percussionists and of course the force, strength and imagination of the constantly surprising Soungalo Coulibaly.
