This music was recorded before Porto Santo Island (Madeira) had been invaded by tourism, at a time when it hummed with copper-toned guitars, ancient Luso-Moroccan dances, nostalgic laments for the sea and medieval ballads.  This collection of traditional music makes this CD the first and last of its kind to be released from this lost island in the Atlantic Ocean.  An exceptional historical document.
