Born in Paris to Vietnamese parents, the guitarist Nguyên Lê never ceases to unfold new acoustic universes. Saiyuki offers a journey to an Asia without borders, with the playful Japanese koto of Meiko Miyazaki and the virtuoso Indian tabla player Prabhu Edouard.

This programme takes its name from the famous sixteenth century Chinese novel, which narrates the pilgrimages of a monk. The concert offers a foray into modernity where Vietnam, India and Japan intermingle to create new forms. The result is a scintillating fusion of three identities.
