Due to her long immersion in the musical life of Serbian villages, Svetlana Spajić has become one of the most respected representatives of Serbian traditional song, and more broadly, that of the Balkan tradition. Pioneers in the performance of a cappella polyphonies, Svetlana and her singers breathe a rare power into this practice by integrating original vocal techniques and ornaments. This exceptional vocal ensemble reveals the originality of Serbian polyphonic song through their absolutely gripping melodic and harmonic lines.
