DANCE OF THE WIND (WARA MENDEL)

Fiction by Rajan Khosa (India, 1997, 87')

INDIA // Alhambra

This story takes place in today’s New Delhi. An event profoundly shakes Pallavi Seghel, the rising star of classical singing. Karuna Devi, who is none other than her mother and teacher, has just died. This sudden loss leaves Pallavi without a voice. Her career is under threat. She risks losing her students and even her husband. Nevertheless, they all hope that, once the pain has subsided, Pallavi will recover her voice. But her silence persists. And for those close to her, despite all of their efforts, this crisis remains inexplicable.
