Petrakis/López/Chemirani

This group serves as the meeting point for three virtuosos of the new generation of Mediterranean musicians. Stelios Petrakis, master of the Cretan lyra, the multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger Efren López, and Iranian percussionist Bijan Chemirani have all developed a musical language that is resolutely innovative. While continuing to evolve in their respective practices of their own musical traditions, they have also nourished their music with exposure to other musical currents and traditions. The result is a totally captivating music of exceptional creativity.
