Yousra Dhahbi (Tunisia)

Born into a family of musicians, Yousra Dhahbi set out on path of musical training at a very young age, which led to an international career as a soloist. An artist of great creativity, she is an expert in the art of maqâmat, the Eastern melodic modes. She is equally at ease in improvisation, building melodies with exemplary rigour and inspiration. She taught the ud and vocals at the National Conservatory of Tunisia before moving to Switzerland, where she has been teaching ud at ADEM and the Conservatory of Lausanne since 2011.
