Adel Salameh (Palestine)

Born in Nablus, Palestine, Adel Salameh began his career as a soloist in the Arab world. After having studied music in Jordan and Iraq, he emigrated to Europe in 1990 and quickly acquired the reputation of being a brilliant ud player. Adel is convinced that music is a crossing point between cultures – building bridges as opposed to barriers. So although he mostly draws his inspiration from the Arab world, we also find Indian, Persian and Turkish accents in his compositions and improvisations. His profound, spontaneous and dazzling style has won over large audiences in both the East and the West.
