GANGBÉ!

A film by Arnaud Robert (Switzerland, Benin, 2015, 58')

Alhambra

Gangbé!
narrates the collision between two Africas. A marching band from Benin takes off to conquer Lagos, Nigeria’s capital. On the long road that leads to the megalopolis, the adventures of a continent, the new cultural stakes of the south and the gulf that separates two neighbouring countries play out. When they encounter Femi Kuti and the ideals of contemporary pan-Africanism, the Gangbe Brass Band forge new ideas. Gangbe! doesn't tell the tale of Africans in an eternal quest for Europe, but opens up new pathways with its poetic, funky style.

Cinema tickets will only sell on spot, the very evening of the screening.

And after the film, don't miss the concert of GANGBÉ BRASS BAND, Beninese marching band!
