Sam Tshabalala is among the artists that had to leave South Africa under apartheid to go and try their luck somewhere else. This writer-composer-performer moved to France after having travelled through Europe and the USA with the Malopoets. Inspired by South Africa’s cultural mosaic, he sings in Zulu, Sotho, Tswana, Shangaan, and sometimes in English. His repertoire focuses on polyphonic vocals. Special guest Sibongile Mbambo, artist of many talents, sings in her native dialect, Xhosa, adding her moving voice to the refined cultural blend. A subtle and enchanting union.

The concert will be preceded at 6.30 pm by a projection of the Lutz Gregor film 'MALI BLUES'. Cinema tickets will sell directly on spot, the very evening of the screening.

+ DJ BLACK VOICES, pan-african vinyl sounds from the 60s to today, to open and close the festivities!
