Tran Quang Hai and Bach Yen, internationally recognised artists, will help us to discover the diverse aspects of the musical culture of the Viet people: the chamber music don tài tu, illustrated by instrumental solos – a 16 string cithara (dàn tranh), a two-stringed hurdy-gurdy (dàn cò), wooden sticks (sinh tiên); the popular music tradition represented by the lullabies of three regions (north, centre and south), alternating songs, spoon (muông) playing; and finally the music of the minorities, by the Jew’s harp in bamboo (gôc) and metal (rab ncas).
